One Step Steam:
Place bag on microwave safe dish. Microwave on high for 3-4 minutes. Remove dish from microwave. Open bag carefully, vegetables will be hot and package will steam. Note: All Mann’s Fresh-Cut Vegetable products are microwaveable in the bag without poking holes in the bag with a fork in the 10 oz, 12 oz and 16 oz sizes. The 32 oz and 48 oz bags are not microwavable. Because of differences in microwave ovens, heating times may vary.
Stove Top:
Fill pan with approximately 1 inch of water. Bring to a boil. Take Mann’s Fresh-Cut Vegetables out of the bag. Rinsing them isn’t necessary. Add vegetables to pan and cover. Steam until tender, yet crisp 3-4 minutes.
Roast:
Preheat oven to 400°. Arrange Mann’s Fresh-Cut Vegetables in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle vegetables lightly with extra virgin olive oil. Bake for 10 minutes, then turn vegetables over. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until crisp and browned. Note: For Sweet Potatoes, roast for 20 minutes, then turn over and roast for an additional 10 minutes.
Freezing/Blanching Instructions
:
You can freeze Mann’s Sunny Shores fresh vegetables, however you must blanch them first. Following are instructions on how to blanch the vegetables. If you freeze your fresh vegetables without blanching, they will be mushy and taste bad when thawed out.
To Blanch:
Boil 2-6 cups of water (depending on bag size) in a large saucepan. Once at a boil, put vegetables into the water. Keep vegetables in the water for about 1 minute. Remove the vegetables and strain in a colander. Rinse under cold, cold water or immerse in ice water – to stop the vegetables from cooking further.
Strain vegetables and pat dry with paper towels. Place into freezer safe container and use within the next 3 month for best quality.
