Fruit & Veggies More Matters
With school starting up again it’s important to make healthy choices when everyone is on the go. Every step taken towards eating more fruits and veggies helps you and your family be at their best. Because eating fruits and vegetables may reduce your family’s risk of many diseases, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends eating more fruits and vegetables than any other food group.
Produce for Better Health Foundation has some helpful tips to start the school year on the right track:

Last Days of Summer
Labor Day is next weekend and there is time for one last gathering before summer fades into fall. We have a few ideas to go with your celebration. Perk up your pasta salad and make Pasta Primavera Salad with Mann’s Broccoli Wokly. Another delicious side dish is Mann’s Green Beans with Thyme-Dijon Butter.
For breakfast on the go try our Sweet Potato Bacon, Egg Scrambler. Prepare as directed and stuff it inside pita bread for the kids as they are rushing out the door to school. You can also try as a lunch treat Broccoli Cole Slaw Grab & Go Veggie Pita. It’s full of fresh veggies and will give you the energy you need for your busy day.

Consumer Questions and Answers
Question, from Mildred in Missouri: I bought an 8oz package of Sugar Snap Peas and got less than a cup of peas from the entire bag.
Answer: Sugar Snap Peas are meant to be eaten pod and all. They are not the type of pea you should buy if you want to shell them for the individual peas. You should be buying English Peas, which are meant to be shelled and the pod discarded.

Through all of the changing weather to come, keep eating healthy and get your daily exercise. Remember ” A body in motion, stays in motion”, so lets all keep moving for better health!
